WOHOOPS.com

WOHOOPS.com will become the leading online Chinese community for basketball enthusiasts, providing instructional video content, basketball news, and a social networking platform that will allow for interaction amongst players, fans, and professionals alike.

WoHoops.com

In conjunction with Donnie Nelson and Del Harris (the coaches of the Chinese National Team) and Scottie Pippen (former NBA All-Star), WOHOOPS.com will cater to 300+ million currently playing basketball in China, giving each the opportunity to showcase their talents, receive qualified and notable instruction to improve their game, organize their personal statics, while staying atop of the latest news, scores, and events taking place throughout the basketball world.  WOHOOPS.com (translation: ‘MyHoops.com’) will beta launch during August 2008 as a collaborative effort between Blastoff Ventures, LLC (US) and Fortel Technology Group, Inc. (Hong Kong).

Basketball, within China, is now the most played sport, overtaking soccer with an estimated 300 million basketball players.   From a country of over 1.3 billion people, an estimated 48 million of all Chinese basketball players are also online, 30 million of which can be located in the top 11 most populated locations throughout the country.  Testimony to the influence that the Chinese basketball fans have, the 2007 airing of the game between the Milwaukee Bucks (Yi Jianlian – since traded to the New Jersey Nets) and the Houston Rockets’ (Yao Ming), garnered a global viewership estimated at nearly 200 million people. Perhaps more impressive is the fact that the Super Bowl, considered the marquee sports event of the year, has a 90 million viewership.
